We’re an autonomous school located in the park-like area around Landau’s Fort, this making it ‘a school surrounded by greenery’. Our proven educational approach puts emphasis on languages, career choice preparation, science and ICT. In our immediate vicinity you will find a university, a stadium, an outdoor swimming pool, a zoo and the city centre. The campus-like structure of the school buildings enables us to offer the utmost care to our pupils.
We offer: personalised support, teaching in large classrooms and the possibility of all-day schooling.
Konrad-Adenauer-Realschule plus prepares pupils for the transition into career-orientated courses at vocational ‘Gymnasien’ or ‘Fachoberschule’ in particular. Students are given individual support based on their strengths and skills and are comprehensively prepared for the future.
The development of links with the ‘Berufsbildenden Schule Landau (BBS)’, ‘Naturwissenschaftlichen Technikum’, the ‘Lehreinheit Physik der Universität Landau’ and with our commercial partners is a key plan for the future. For many years, between 30 and 40 percent of school leavers each year have successfully gone on to continue their studies at vocational or general ‘Gymnasien’. The percentage increases if you take those who go onto ‘Fachoberschule’ into account.
In the academic year 2012/2013, Konrad-Adenauer-Realschule plus (KARS) has a total of 903 pupils split into 36 classes taught by 73 members of staff. Almost 400 of our students live in the city or district of Landau. The rest commute from over 40 surrounding communities thanks to our convenient transport network.
